

William Ted Rasberry Sr. suddenly passed away at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 27, 2011, at the age of 75. He was born August 19, 1935 in Quitman, Louisiana to Hermie James and Willie Mae (Brown) Rasberry.
After serving in the U.S. Navy, he moved to the Yakima Valley where he met his wife Vickie, and they had four children. He was a member of the American Legion Posts #116, #50, and #133, and he served as commander in both Wapato and Toppenish posts.
He was preceded in death by his brother Johnny Ray Rasberry, his mother Willie Mae Rasberry, his brother Edward R. Rasberry and his father Hermie James Rasberry.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Victoria Jim Rasberry; his brothers, James (and wife Eloise) Rasberry, Dale (and wife Patty) Rasberry, Donnie (and wife Barbara) Rasberry, and Gene (and wife Diana) Rasberry; his sister, Florence Jorgenson; and his four children, Veronica (and husband Steve) Lawrence, Melissa (and husband Myron) Hannigan, Teddie (and Jimmi) Rasberry-Shike, and William Ted (and Cyndi) Rasberry Jr.
Lovingly remembered by all of his children he has helped raise, all call him Dad, Joshua (Tiffany) Jim-Sumner, Anthony (Jenny) Sumner, Nathan Sumner, Samantha Rasberry-Besa, Lloyd Metsker, Lydia Shilow Wyena, Patricia (Vernon) Fiander Bogar, Farley(Martina) Allen, Joe (Samantha) LaClair, Dulcie (Justin) Marek, Tessie Sockzehigh, and Renea Brown.
His grandchildren, Stevie Lawrence. Christopher, Clarissa, Tiffany, Hillarie, Myles & Holly Hannigan, Shawn, Josephine, Shawntel, Justin & Theresa Shike. Alexis, William (Trey), Jordon (Jo-jo), & William III Rasberry; great grandchildren, Lucky, Satchel, Braden, Cadence Sumner and Emma Jim-Sumner; and all his nieces and nephews that he admired and adored.
Dressing Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 29th at Merritt Funeral Home in Wapato. Following the dressing service, he will be taken to the White Swan Community Center for Wash’it overnight services. He will leave the Community Center at sunrise Wednesday morning for burial in the Toppenish Creek Cemetery in White Swan, with Anthony Washines officiating.
