Arthur Ronald Fortner was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Arthur Hugh and Rena Renner Fortner. Ronnie graduated from Putnum City High School in 1953. In 1955 along came this little country girl from Mississippi and he was caught. Ronnie didn’t have a chance; Ann was anything but shy. Ronnie didn’t really “rock and roll” in the 50’s but oh did he marry a girl that did; all of their married life.
Out of high school Ronnie worked for a vending machine company. Professionally he became a computer programmer, mostly self- taught, in the day when most of us only had pictures of computers. He worked for Local Federal and many years at McGraw Hill textbook company.
Together Ronnie and Ann raised three beautiful boys. Every spring he planted large gardens for his family and another garden for his parents. In addition to his gardens Ronnie built a large green house and maintained it for years. After the death of his mother Ronnie and Ann bought his sisters portion of his parent’s home. Ronnie up-dated the house he grew up in. His thumb was very green; Ronnie could grow anything and was always looking for a challenge regarding gardening, so he started growing vegetables hydroponically and of course he was successful.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Sherry, his dedicated wife Elizabeth Annett Price Fortner, and three sons, Randy, Barry and Brent.
