Lucille Pearson, 97 former resident of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on October 1, 2018 in Tucson, AZ. Lucille was born on December 1, 1920 in Yantis,TX to Jennie and P.H. Thornton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William A.(Bill) Pearson, Jr.
Lucille spent her childhood in Oklahoma City and graduated from Central High School in 1939. Lucille worked in retail in California during the time Bill served in the USNavy. They returned to Oklahoma to reside after the war.
As a member of Linwood Methodist Church, she taught in the Kindergarten class and MYF for many years. She volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and Girl Scouts. At Quail Springs Baptist Church she worked with the grade school program. After moving to Tucson, Az., she joined the GFWC 5th Wheels Book Club. Lucille was also dedicated to assisting her nearby parents.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her daughter, Sharon K. Brunk and her husband Tom Brunk. Her granddaughter, Angela Platt and her husband, Jeff Platt and her great-grandson, Hayden Platt. Also her nieces and nephews, Cathy Tucker, Jim and Jeanna Davis, Leslie McKean and her husband, Lonnie McKean and several great-nieces and great nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 2:00 PM. at Rose Hill Abbey Mausoleum.
