

Alexander John Keys, age 22, a lifetime resident of Royal Oak, died June 11, 2012 at his home. Alex was born on May 21, 1990 to Dr. Gregory and Joanne (nee: Barbary) Keys in Royal Oak, MI. Raised in Royal Oak and a graduate of Royal Oak High School and most recently attending University of Detroit Mercy. Alex worked as an Animal Caregiver for DePorre Veterinary Hospital in Bloomfield Hills. Alex was passionate about history and the historical facts surrounding wars, he also was a soft-hearted and a gentle person who loved animals. Alex and his cousin Holden shared the hobby of collecting and restoring weapons and skeet shooting. Alex was the loving son of Dr. Gregory and Joanne Keys. He was the dearest brother of Natalie Keys, and beloved grandson of Leonard and Joan Keys and Jerome and Irene Barbary. He was the dear nephew of Maureen (Tim) Dawda, Paulette Keys, and Russell (Jennifer) Keys. Cherished cousin of Holden, Emma, Devan, Lauren, and Chase. Additional survivors include many wonderful family members and treasured friends. Visitation for Alex will be Wednesday from 3-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski and Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile). Funeral Services will be held Thursday 10:30am at the Funeral Home.
