Alice Stella Kleczkowski, age 88 of Warren, died Sunday, October 27, 2013 at home, surrounded by her loved ones. Alice was born on February 28, 1925 in Metz, Michigan, daughter of the late Pawel and the late Stella (nee: Parczeska) Wojtowicz. Alice was married to the love of her life, Theodore Kleczkowski, with whom she raised one beautiful daughter, Karen and one cherished son Richard. Spending time with her family is what Alice treasured more than anything else in life. Following Theodore's passing, Alice was very fortunate and blessed to meet her beloved companion, Eugene Wrubel. Eugene and Alice enjoyed spending time in each other's company; whether it was a key event in life or something as simple as going shopping, Alice and Eugene were inseparable and found great joy in the love and relationship they shared together. In telling the story of Alice, the word "spirited" comes to mind,…and her spirit was witnessed in a variety of ways. One of these was through her love of being outside and enjoying the beauty & wonder of God's creation. And when it came to creativity, Alice took much pride in her garden. She could often be found pouring her own brand of TLC into the nurturing of the soil and the cultivating of her backyard masterpiece. Alice also possessed a "Spirit of Rejuvenation" which took its form in the many projects she tackled in life. She was quite the "handywomen" and not afraid to try something new. From cleaning the gutters, to fixing the shingles on the roof, and so much more,…this was certainly not one of her timid spirits. She possessed a "Spirit of Expression," as well, which was often seen and enjoyed with each kite she flew, each time she cut-a-rug on the dance floor, and through her natural, artistic flair in painting. But when it came time to truly expressing herself, it was the realm of politics that brought out her exciting and invigorating side. She was quite the news hound and always informed when it came to the matters of government and our political system. Alice absolutely loved the subject, and was never afraid to speak her mind, nor make her case to whomever provided her the opportunity. Alice was also quite fond of traveling, especially when it meant escaping to Florida for a little vacation fun. And, of course, her favorite destination was the quiet community of Newport Richie. Life was never more enjoyable than on those days of soaking up the sun and fun down south. And now her travels take her into the loving arms of God, and the joys of Heaven. On this side, she touched a multitude of hearts and lives and leaves behind many beautiful and wonderful memories created with them to be remembered and cherished. On the other side, she'll be that guardian angel who awaits each reunion with the loved ones she treasured. Alice will be missed immensely and loved eternally. Alice was the beloved companion of Eugene Wrubel. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Theodore and her cherished son Richard. Alice is survived by dearest daughter, Karen (Glennen) Reiss. Visitation for Alice will be held on Friday, November 1st from 2-5pm, with a 5pm Funeral Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren. Please share memories of Alice at her memory book.
