Alice M. Majerowicz, age 87 of Eastpointe, died Thursday, November 22, 2012 at St. John Hospital in Detroit. She was born in Detroit on December 28, 1924, daughter of the late Joseph and the late Mary (nee: Popovich) Mihelich.A loving wife, mother and grandmother, one of her most profound traits was enveloped by her "passionate" nature. Alice possessed a passion for her family that was unmatched by any other, and it all began in 1946. It was then that the story of her family took wing when she promised herself in marriage to her beloved, Edward. On that memorable day at St. Florian Catholic Church in Hamtramck, the two became one in holy matrimony and their journey began in building a home, raising two beautiful children, and growing deeper in love with each passing day. They would go on to share over 43 years together until Edward's passing in 1989. With sad hearts, we say good-bye to Alice,...but" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">...but we know it's with pure joy that she is, now, reunited with her beloved in Heaven. As the story of her life continues, many who knew her well will be able to attest to Alice's immense passion when it came to her opinions. With a strong will, determined mind, and a feisty countenance, there was never a question about how she felt on just about everything. She shared her mind openly, frankly, and in a deliberate fashion that left no room for mystery. In a unique and genuine way, it was an endearing quality of this wonderful and giving lady who touched a multitude of lives along life's way. Another of her passions in life was found in her enjoyment for playing cards, and the name of the game was definitely Poker. Nothing spelled fun more for Alice than sitting around the card table with her poker mates sharing great conversation amidst the competition at hand. Together with her band of girlfriends, they spent many years meeting every other week to enjoy the game, nurture their friendships, and create a host of memories that ensued from exercising their poker prowess. Alice was also fond of dancing and, of recent past, had become quite enamored by the television hit show, "Dancing With The Stars." Being one who could "cut-a-rug" in her earlier years, she found great enjoyment in watching the stars work their magic which, in turn, brought back warm memories of days gone by. She also possessed an artistic side which was often realized in her drawings. She loved to dabble in the art form which, many times, involved creating cartoons for the grandchildren to enjoy. Yes, Alice truly defined the phrase passionate in so many ways,...but none-so-much as that which she held for her family. She loved them all deeply and held them in the highest regard. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will be a constant reminder of the impact she made and the care she possessed. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward. Dear mother of Tom (Joelle) Majerowicz and Nancy Majerowicz. Loving grandmother of Amy (Eric) Wynn, Tom Majerowicz, John Majerowicz, and great-grandmother of Elijah Wynn and Everett Wynn. Devoted sister of Ruth Drobnich.A Memorial Mass for Alice will be held at 9:30am on Saturday, December 1st at St. Paul of Tarsus Catholic Church in Clinton Township. Inurnment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.Memorial donations are welcomed to the Capuchin's, 1820 Mt.
