Al grew up in Center Line and attended Life University in Georgia, where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. He proudly ran his own chiropractic practice from 1985 until 2020, dedicating his life to caring for others. He was deeply loved and appreciated by his patients, many of whom became lifelong friends. He was also a valued member of the Macomb County Chiropractic Association.
A devoted member of St. Blase Catholic Church, Al lived his faith through action. He volunteered his time cooking for the homeless through charitable organizations and his church, always eager to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Al will be remembered for his genuine heart, his kindness and generosity, and his willingness to do anything for anyone without question or expectation of anything in return. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a gift for making people laugh. Outside of his work, he was an avid hunter, enjoyed golfing, collecting minerals, and traveling, especially trips Up North with his family. He had a special love for his many dogs over the years and delighted friends and family with his magic and card tricks. Al will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Al was the beloved brother of Marilyn Kay (Michael) Martin and the late James Schea. Loving father of Michael (Danielle) Schwalm. Dearest grandfather of Archer and Beckham Schwalm. Cherished uncle of James (Amy) Martin, Cameron Schea, Austin (Chelstin) Schea and great-uncle of Claire Schea, Clayton Schea, Thomas Martin and Kaitlyn Martin.
A Memorial Mass for Allan will be held at St. Blasé Catholic Church, 12151 15 Mile Rd, Sterling Heights, MI with a date and time to be determined. Arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home in Warren.
