Anna E. Wilk, age 79 of Eastpointe, died Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the Sanctuary at Fraser Villa Nursing Home in Fraser, Michigan. She was born on September 5, 1931 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Michael and the late Stella (nee: Chronowski) Lesko. On September 5, 1953, Anna's life was gloriously changed when she promised herself in marriage to the man who swept her off her feet, her beloved John. They would go on to share the next 31 years together growing more in love and raising four beautiful children, until John's passing in December of 1984. Along with her most important work as a Mom and caregiver, Anna also worked outside of the home as an assembler with the Chrysler Corporation. Following a long history of hard work ethics, she retired from Chrysler after 26 years of dedicated service. When she wasn't working, Anna had special pleasures which she enjoyed both in and out of doors. When inside the house, you'd often find her exercizing her mind while solving crossword and word search puzzles. She loved the challenges they brought and the victory she gained in their resolve. On her outdoor occasions, she loved to dabble in gardening. Whether with her flowers, trees, or vegetables, this lady with her green thumb derived great pleasure in nurturing the growth around the yard. Yet, in telling the story of Anna, there's no mistaking the fact that her greatest pleasure and pride was found in & through her polish heritage. With roots that ran deep, she could speak the language fluently. Funny though it seems, her children recall that the words that stand out the most were those of the "colorful variety." And being the polish Mom that she was, she often worked her magic in the kitchen as well. Whether it was her famous polish dinners or the tasty polish baked goods she whipped up, there were always happy bellies in Anna's house. And of all the wonderful memories that her family shares surrounding her proud heritage, some of the most fun was had on their visits to the Annual Polish Festival at Warsaw Park in northern Macomb County. Lastly, Anna was known for her love of animals, which tells a story all its own of this lady with a soft and caring heart. The legacy of love she leaves behind is strong and true, and she will be missed immensely. She was the beloved wife of the late John Wilk. Dear mother of Gerald Wilk, Donald (Darlene) Wilk, Annette (Chris) Duda, and James (Tammy) Wilk. Loving grandmother of Tasha, Joseph, Justin, Daniel, and Alexa. She was predeceased by siblings; Helen Clouse, Dorothy Greene, and John Lesko. Visitation for Anna will be on Thursday, October 28th from 3:00pm-9:00pm, with a 7:00pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. Her Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am on Friday at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Father Tony Sulkowski. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan. Please share memories of Anna at her guest book.
