Anthony "Vic" Rohr

Anthony Victor Rohr "Vic" – age 69, died Sunday, October 26, 2014 at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Macomb Center in Warren. He was born September 11, 1945 in Detroit, son of the late Anthony Aloysius and the late Barbara (nee: Minkley) Rohr.For the past 33 years, Vic has shared his life with Darlene,…the second woman to have swept him off his feet. With it being second marriages for them both, the two became one as they promised themselves to each other on June 19, 1981. And along with a new life for these lovebirds came the melding of two family units with five children,…and one they were blessed to welcome into the fray of their own. Vic met Darlene when their lives crossed paths at his place of business, the Emerald City Marina in St. Clair Shores. Known today as the "Nautical Mile," the marina sat dead center along the shoreline and is where Vic worked as the marina's manager. For over 35 years, Vic extended the utmost in professionalism and customer service until his ultimate retirement. Through the marina, he knew a lot of people and made a lot of friends, and was well known throughout the community. When he wasn't working, Vic enjoyed the fine craftwork of piecing together models of all kinds. From one who possessed an incredible love and appreciation for planes, boats and trains, this passion was often realized through some of the remarkable models he produced. Another passion of Vic's was through his interests with Pro-Modified Drag Strip Race Cars, a pastime he shared with a friend and kindred spirit of racing. Boys love their cars, and Vic enjoyed countless hours of pleasure by hangin' out at the tracks and taking in some incredibly powerful entertainment over the years.He worked hard,…he played hard,…and the balance to life was found in the comforts of home and family,…especially his beautiful grandchildren. They're always the ones to keep us centered, and they forever brought a smile to Grandpa's heart. Vic touched a multitude of hearts and lives along the way, and his presence will be sorely missed. Vic was the beloved husband of Darlene. Dear father of Vincent Rohr, Scott Rohr, Anthony V. II (Jennifer) Rohr, Kimberly Osborne, Damon (Beth) Osborne, and David Rohr. Loving grandfather of Britnay, Cassidy, Nicholas, James, and Anthony. Brother of Beverly Gola. Visitation for Vic will be held on Wednesday, October 29th from 3-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren. His Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00am on Thursday at the funeral home.
