Arthur was born to his parents Arthur W. and Beatrice Boyd (nee LeGree) on March 16, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan.
In July of 1968, during the height of the Vietnam War, Arthur was drafted to the United States Army, where he served with honor and distinction for a year and twelve days in Southeast Asia as a harbor craft operator, where he was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with three bronze stars, National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
After his discharge he married his companion and the love of his life, Sharon (nee Ledford), and together they spent 48 years by each other's side where they created a happy home for their children Ryan and Jessica.
Arthur was very active in the community where he lived and worked. He worked as a superintendent for the city of Warren for over 20 years and also enjoyed his involvement with VFW Post #6756 in Centerline and American Legion Post #4 in Clinton Township. Arthur was also a member of the masonic chapter #550 in Centerline, the Le Club La Salle in Warren, and the Mobile Riverine Force Association.
In his free time Arthur found peace and relaxation by tending to his garden where he would grow fresh vegetables, boating and loved being out on the water. He loved watching his grandchildren compete in sporting events. He also liked being at home and watching a good football game or enjoying an old western movie.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sharon Boyd, children Ryan (Pamela) Boyd and Jessica Boyd, grandsons Jackson, Lucas and Max, brothers Jeffrey Boyd and Stephen Boyd, brother-in-law Barney (Suzanne) Ledford and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and all those who were blessed by having known him.
Arthur was preceded in passing by his parents and his brother William Boyd.
