Born and raised in Detroit, she was one of 8 children of Adele and Kenneth Deneau. Following graduation from Eastern High School, Audrey went to work for Detroit Edison. A talented ballroom dancer, Audrey enjoyed spending time with her friends and family at Belle Isle and the old Vanity Ballroom in Detroit.
In 1954, Audrey met the first love of her life, Paul Chordash, on a blind date. After a whirlwind courtship, they married and started their family. Over the course of 12 years, Audrey and Paul had 7 children.
Audrey was one of the original working mothers, juggling a full-time job as a bookkeeper and legal secretary at the Morris Rowland law firm while raising her family. A devoted and loving mother and wife, she always put the needs of her family first.
Following Paul's long illness and death in 1998, Audrey retired from working. She resumed dancing, and it was at a local event that she met the second love of her life, Robert (Bob) Accorsi. They married in 2003 and were devoted to each other until Bob's death in 2015.
In recent years, Audrey enjoyed traveling with her family and trips to the casino, where she was an avid player of the slots. She was an active member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Sterling Heights.
She is survived by her children, Ellen (Jerry) Downey; Marjorie (Tom) Miszcak; Bryan (Donna) Chordash; Donna (Ray) Berels; Cathy (Richard) Johnson; Sandy (Tony) Pettigrew; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; as well as her brothers Richard (Gerry) Deneau and Bill (Sue) Deneau; and sister Patricia (Tom) Willits.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Audrey was preceded in death by her son Paul Chordash, Jr. (Beatrice); her grandson Scott Berels (Melissa); sisters Carol (Larry) Schoen, Joyce (Leo) Dattoloand Judy (Don) Houseman; and her brother James (Elaine) Deneau.
The family would like to thank the amazing clinical team at Beaumont Hospital Troy who lovingly cared for her when we could not be with her due to COVID-19.
Visitation for Audrey will be held Tuesday, August 11th from 4:00pm until time of the funeral service at 7:00pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren.
