Barbara Jean Tourangeau

Barb was a devoted mother to Gregory (Karen Osenkowski), Scott (Cindy) Penabaker, and the late Hoyt “Alan” Penabaker III; and a dear stepmother to John, James, and Ellen Tourangeau. She was cherished as “GMA Barb” by her grandchildren Erika (Matthew), Niklas, and Maija, and was a beloved step-grandma to McKenna, Lauran, and Derrick. She was especially proud to be great-grandma to Leah, Matthew, Ryan, Rachel, and Kate.

Barb was the loving sister of Frederick, Mary Lou, and the late Janet. She leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Born in Detroit, Michigan on March 7, 1937, to her late parents John and Margarie Locke, Barb lived a life full of care, dedication, and service. She was an active member of the Church of the Holy City in Royal Oak, Michigan, and found great joy in her many roles at the church camp in Almont, one of her life’s greatest passions.

In her younger years, she enjoyed golfing, bowling, and needlepoint, hobbies that brought her joy and friendship throughout her life.
