Betty F. Greiner

Betty F. Greiner, age 92, passed away surrounded by her family on July 2, 2011. She was born in Howell, Michigan on December 9, 1918 to Herman and Julia French. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Peter Greiner, Sr.; brother, Berkley; and sister's, Aldene and Emily. She is survived by her children; Julie DeSchryver, Angela (Rick) Davidson, and John Greiner, Jr. Loving grandmother of Robert (Alicia) Greiner, Peter Greiner, John Greiner, Michelle (Jared) Oatley, Emily Davidson, Matthew Davidson; and great-grandchildren, Jamison and Juliet Greiner. Betty was an educator with the Mt. Clemens Public Schools for thirty years. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Our Lady's Circle at St. Louis Parish in Mt. Clemens. She was a world traveler with Nomads, an avid reader, an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed knitting and needlepoint, Bridge, golf, and crossword puzzles. She also volunteered her time at the Mt. Clemens Art Center, St. Joseph Hospital, and ushered at the Fox and other Detroit city theaters. She has wintered in Indialantic, Florida for the past twenty years. In celebration of Betty's life, a Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 9th at 10:00am at St. Louis Catholic Church, 24415 Crocker Blvd. in Clinton Township, followed by a luncheon to be announced at the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Kimmel Cancer Center to support Dr. Takami Sato's work in the area of Uveal Melanoma.
