Casmere John Kawa, age 88, of Detroit died Thursday, December 18, 2008 at St. John Hospital in Detroit. Casmere was born February 27, 1920 in Hamtramck to the late Ludwik Kawa and the late Franciszka (nee: Taranski) Kawa. Casmere was very proud to have served during World War II, earning both the Purple Heart and Bronze Star medals. Casmere is survived by his beloved wife Eleanor (nee: Klotz). He was the loving father of Carol (Robert) Stasser, Lois Frantz, Kenneth (Susan) and Susan (Fabian) Montori. He was the dear grandfather to 6 and great grandfather to 5.
