

Charlie grew up in Warren and was a Roseville resident for 45 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Kathy, beloved sons Brian (Donna), and Christopher, cherished Grandfather of Matthew and Trystan. Beloved brother of Suellen (Leo) Zande, Peter (Nancy) MacKenzie, Douglas (Gwen) MacKenzie and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Michael, parents Kenneth and Arda MacKenzie, brother Roderick MacKenzie.
Charlie worked in the Foundry for 34 years at Milford Fabricating in Detroit, and as a parts driver for John Carlo Construction before retiring. He was a 1969 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. Charlie had a great dedication to Military Veterans (especially the Marines). He and Kathy ran an Iraq/Afghanistan support group for active duty service members, veterans, and their families. He was also an avid classic car guy and a member of the USMA Car Club.
Charlie’s family will hold a visitation from 2:00pm-8:00pm on Monday, February 14, 2022 at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Rd., Warren. A Funeral Service will occur at 10:00am on Tuesday, February 15, at the Funeral Home. Visitation on Tuesday begins at 9:30am. Interment is to occur at Resurrection Cemetery following the Funeral Service on Tuesday.
If you knew Charlie, you know he was a sweat shorts and polo shirt kind of guy… his funeral will be casual.
In lieu of flowers, the Family requests donations to Vietnam Veterans Association Chapter #154 or charity of choice.
