Christian Peter Heinzelman

Christian Peter Heinzelman, age 84 of Warren, died Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. He was born May 17, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late John and the late Theresa (nee: Paschen) Heinzelman.Christian was the beloved husband of Heidi (nee; Matz) for 32 wonderful years. Dear father of Mark (Beth) Heinzelman, Diana Morrison, Scott Heinzelman, and stepfather of Karen Steffler, Lynn Keating, and John (Andrea) Keating. He is also survived by many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Christian was preceded in death by his brother, John. With thanks and praise from a grateful nation, we pay homage to Christian for his service to our country as a soldier in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era. For answering his call with pride, for serving bravely, and for his willingness to stand in harm's way for freedom's sake, we extend our posthumous gratitude and honor Christian's patriotism.In recognition of his honorable military service, Mr. Heinzelman will be laid to rest beside all of his other fellow heroes at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. His Committal Service, Military Honors and burial services will commence at 1:30 pm on Friday, January 18, 2019 at the cemetery.Arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S.
