

Clarence Joseph Grzelka, 92, of Sterling Heights, died Friday, February 29, 2008 at St. John Macomb Hospital Center in Warren. He was born January 22, 1916 in Kenawee, Illinois the son of the late Michael Grzelka and the late Louise (nee: Nadolny) Grzelka. Mr. Grzelka was raised in Detroit and served his country in the Army during World War II having attained the rank of Sergeant. Clarence enlisted on May 28, 1941 at Camp Grant, IL and was honorably discharged on November 10, 1945 at Wright Patterson Field, Ohio. After his military service Clarence returned to Detroit and worked as a beer truck delivery man for over 35 years. He primarily worked for Goebel also a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Grzelka was a devoted member of his church and in his spare time had a passion for golfing and bowling. He ended his bowling career at age 90 with a big party at the bowling lanes. Surviving is his wife of 67 years, Jessie; son, Ronald (Barbara) Grzelka; grandchildren, Brad (Nikkie) Grzelka and Dawn (Aaron) Klepinger; and great-grandchildren, Hunter, and Jessie Claire. Visitation will be held at 9:30 am Tuesday until the time of the funeral mass at 10 am at St. Theresa of Avila - St. Dorothy Catholic Church Campus in Warren.
