Claudine was the beloved wife of the late Ray Thomas. She was the loving mother of Kelley (David) Valade and the late Scott (Lisa) Thomas, and the proud Nana of Lauren Raychel and Meghan Jaine, who were the light of her life. She was the dear cousin of Patsy Brown. Claudine was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Cynthia Vaughn.
Born in Bloomington Springs, Tennessee, Claudine moved with her family to Michigan at the age of six. She attended high school and college in Michigan before beginning her career with Northwest Airlines, where she worked as a reservationist and sales agent.
In 1962, fate brought Claudine together with her future husband, Ray. Although they were both born in Bloomington Springs, they had never met there. After just three dates, they knew they had found something special. They became engaged and were married shortly thereafter, beginning a loving partnership that would span many years.
Together, Claudine and Ray raised their two children in Warren, Michigan, where Claudine lived independently and remained active until recently. She found joy in traveling, shopping—especially for jewelry—collecting clowns, and spending time with those she loved most.
Above all, Claudine cherished her family. Her children and granddaughters were her pride and joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Her warmth, devotion, and loving spirit touched the lives of many and will be remembered always.
Claudine will be deeply missed by her family and friends. While her absence leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her, there is comfort in knowing she has been reunited in Heaven with Ray, Scott, her parents, and the many loved ones who went before her.
Her memory will be treasured forever by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation and service will be held at the Warren location of A.H. Peters Funeral Home; day and time to be announced soon.
Interment at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East, Clinton Township.
