Clayton Edwards

Clayton Edwards, age 85 of Warren, died Saturday, February 16, 2008 at his home. Clayton was born July 16, 1922 in Birchleaf, Virginia the son of the late Noah Edwards and the late Ella (Fuller) Edwards. He is survived by his wife Merle. He is the dearest dad of Denny (Donna), Vicki (Steve) Wade, Larry (Priscilla), Pat (Jerry) Hallmark, Keith (Cindy), and the late Joey Edwards. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Kevin Wade, Joey (Amy) Wade, Jeanette (Brad) Coomer, Bart (Mandy) Edwards, Lori (Jason) Adams, Benjamin (Andrea) Edwards, Kristin Hallmark, and Robin Hallmark. Great grandfather of Kyra, Emma, Landen, Tyler, and Chase. Mr. Edwards was raised in Birchleaf, Virginia and served in the Army during World War II having attained the rank of Sergeant. After his military service he moved to Michigan to work in the steel industry. Mr. Edwards worked many jobs at Republic Steel in his 40 plus years before retiring. When he was not working he enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, staying fit with exercise, or working in his garden. He was a faithful and devoted member of Primitive Baptist Church, and a caring, husband, father, and grandfather. Clayton and his wife spent 20 years as snowbirds in Florida for the winters, and when they were home enjoyed hosting family and friends for the holidays. Visitation for Mr. Edwards will be Sunday from 5-8 pm, and Monday 1-4 & 6-8 pm, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 mile). Funeral Services will be Tuesday 11:00 am at the funeral home. Officiating the funeral will be Rev. J.C. Hager. Interment will follow the service at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy.
