Darren Allen Dagastino, age 55, died Saturday, July 11, 2020 at his home in Warren, Michigan. Darren was born February 3, 1965 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Darryl Dagastino Sr. and the late Lois (nee: Leonard) Dagastino.
Darren was raised in several locations including Northport, Fraser, and St. Clair Shores, Michigan. He graduated from Lakeshore High School in St. Clair Shores and later joined the workforce. He worked as a waterproofing technician before retiring due to health conditions.
Throughout his life, Darren loved music and became an accomplished guitar player. He played in and formed different bands over his music career, including Metal Faith, Damaged Faith, and Cell 85. He was a rocker to his core, with Darren’s musical foundation seed being planted from the bands' Kiss and Led Zeppelin. However, later he became a Pantera fan, along with other metal bands. Darren loved the outdoors, especially when he was riding a motorcycle. Over the years he had owned a Triumph motorcycle and Harleys.
Darren cherished his family and daughters. Later, as his grandchildren were born, his love for them only enhanced his complete love for his family. He was also a consummate cynical joker who would make the most unusual funny faces. Also, no one will ever understand why he referred to his granddaughter as Dr. Metazian.
Although some may regard Darren as a rocker and headbanger, he also had a soft side. He was a man who enjoyed growing tomatoes in his garden and playing with his cat, “Bug”. He was spiritually quiet and believed in the healing benefits of his chakra zones through crystals.
Darren was the beloved husband of Sherri, and was the dear father of Leah Dagastino and Kristen (James) Andary. He was the loving Papa of Isabella Ruff, Karter Andary, and Kase Andary. Darren is further survived by his stepmother, Lynn Vicory, his siblings; Daniel (Sherri) Dagastino, Derrick Dagastino, and the late Darryl Dagastino Jr. Darren is also survived by his sister-in-law, Sue Dagastino and many dear family members and friends.
Visitation for Darren will be held Saturday, July 18, 2020, from Noon - 4 pm, with a closing prayer at 3:30pm, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Road) in Warren, Michigan.
