For a short period of time I was Dave's secretary at State of Michigan. I enjoyed our group lunches at the local Polish restaurants in Hamtramck.

My heart goes out to all of you. I always enjoyed the e-mails from Dave and we enjoyed sharing pictures of our grandchildren. When he was working here we enjoyed playing cards and shared many laughs. He will be missed.

Pauline, Jeff, & Elizabeth we are so sorry for your loss. Please know that all of you are in our hearts and accept our deepest sympathies.

Dave was my supervisor and friend during a difficult time in my life. His caring meant a great deal to me. I will very much miss seeing the pictures of his adorable granddaughter His jokes and stories from his circle of friends that he used to forward to my e-mail (and that I freely shared) brightened many a day. He is gone too soon and will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Makowski family. Dave was my supervisor when I worked at the Unemployment Agency. Dave was rough around the edges at first, but over time, he shared more of his true self and you realized he was a genuine family man with great sense of humor. I know he was crazy about his granddaughter and his family; he will always watch over them now. I will remember Dave fondly whenever I think about our days at the Unemployment Agency or the Holbrock Cafe in Hamtramck; he will be dearly missed.

I'm so sorry for your loss.Just know you have the hope of seeing each other again in the reserection to God's paradise Kingdom on earth.( The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it.
