David Joseph Sakowsky

David grew up in Warren and was a proud graduate of Fitzgerald High School. He went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Marygrove College and built a successful career in the technology field. He worked for OpenText as a Senior Solutions Consultant, where his dedication and expertise earned him numerous awards throughout his career. His work also gave him the opportunity to travel the world, including memorable trips to Thailand, Hong Kong and Hawaii.

David’s greatest accomplishment, however, was his family. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Marianne, for 53 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, faith, family, and countless cherished memories. David especially treasured his time with his grandchildren. Whether traveling to Disney World, cheering them on at sporting events, or proudly attending their dance recitals, he loved being there for every special moment.

A man of deep faith, David was a longtime parishioner of St. Anne’s, where he found great joy in serving his church and community. He volunteered at church festivals and events and was a former member of the Dad’s Club at St. Clement. His willingness to give his time to others was a reflection of the generous and caring person he was.

Outside of work and family, David enjoyed spending time with friends, playing Euchre, going on cruises, playing golf, relaxing with a glass of bourbon, and spending time with his beloved Schnoodle, Cooper. He appreciated the simple pleasures of life and, most of all, the people who made it meaningful. David will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, faithful friend, and man of great faith. His love, kindness, and presence will live on through the many lives he touched.

David was the beloved husband of Marianne. Loving father of Christine (David) England and Kimberly (Douglas) Sakowsky. Adored grandfather of Joseph England, James England, Nicholas England, Andrew England, Madeline England, and Lily Smith. Dear brother of Joanne Krist and Valerie (Mark) Minty. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Katie Sakowsky.

Visitation for David will be held on Sunday, October 4th from 3-8pm with a 7pm Rosary at the D.S. Temrowski and Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road in Warren. He will lie In State on Monday, October 5th from 9:30am until the time of his Funeral Mass at 10am at St Anne Catholic Church, 32000 Mound Rd, in Warren. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
