Deborah Marie Dikowski-Baum

Deborah Marie Dikowski-Baum, age 62 of Fraser, died Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Michigan. She was born June 27, 1956 in Detroit, daughter of Charles and Margaret (nee: Berels) Lytle.When Deb wasn't working or taking care of her family's needs, she enjoyed letting down her hair and enjoying some of her favorite pastimes,…like giving Ol' Lady Luck a run for her money at one of the local casinos. Specifically, it was those infamous "One-Armed Bandits" that drew her attention and called upon the "Gaming Girl" that lie within,…and every once in a while would provide her a windfall. A younger woman possessing many talents and gifts, part of what made her special were the older traditions she kept,…like canning fruits and vegetables. Though we live in a world where you can get most everything you need at the grocery store, Deborah found the art and skill of canning to be something she wanted to help perpetuate. Gotta wonder how many people even know what canning is?Another pastime that kept her interest was watching some of her favorite shows on TV. After a long day, or simply in looking for a bit of entertainment, the thought of relaxing in a comfy chair and being swept away by the likes of "American Housewives" or the Drag Queen show, "RuPaul's Drag Race" was always a welcoming one for Deb. She also enjoyed spending time with her husband at one of their favorite fishing holes, biding the time away as they patiently awaited that familiar tug on the line,…always hoping for that "Big One" to brag about. Then, of course, one of her greatest passions was the season of Halloween. She loved every aspect of the annual celebration and poured herself into making it both memorable…and hair-raising. From the ghosts and goblins, to the cute little pumpkins, Halloween had Deb's name written all over it. And this short little bio just wouldn't be complete without mentioning the love she held for her precious pups,…especially her Pit/Boxer mix, Maggie. Each of them stole her heart in their own unique way, but Maggie was definitely the Queen of the Day. Her fuzzy, four-legged friends came with an unconditional love that warmed her heart and comforted her soul immensely.Yet of all the warm-blooded souls that filled her heart, the love she held for her family and friends was truly matchless. They meant the world to her, and each moment spent in their company just added to the joys and pleasures that filled her heart. Deb was their greatest supporter,…their most devout fan,…the best sounding board & listener,…and the first one to go to when you had something juicy to share. You could always count on Deb for a smile, a hug, or just somebody to quietly sit with and chill. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Deb poured her heart into everything she did,…and, most definitely, into the precious lives entrusted to her care. She loved life, lived it fully, and did her best to leave a legacy of love that will be cherished and respected with each remembrance shared. Without question,…she will be missed immensely and loved eternally. Deborah was the beloved wife of Kurt Baum. Dearest mother of Marcia Dikowski, Christine (Steve Rauen) Dikowski, Joe (Tania Garska) Dikowski, and Sabrina (Shawn) Minnix. Loving grandmother of Anthony, Breanna, and Jeremy Dikowski; Sylvia and Sydney Minnix; and Lorna Pinero. Sister of David Lytle and Diane King. A Memorial Visitation for Deborah will be held Friday, March 22nd from 4-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren.
