Delores I. Shegan

Delores I. Shegan, age 87 of Clinton Township, died Monday, November 16, 2009 at the Sanctuary at Fraser Villa Living Center in Fraser, Michigan. She was born in Detroit on December 23, 1921, the daughter of the late William and the late Hedwig (nee: Schaedig) Gilbert. A loving homemaker and Mom, Delores poured her heart into nurturing her family and making special moments together. Some of her most precious memories were those created while spending time at one of her favorite spots, the cottage up north on Lake Nettie. Escaping the concrete jungle and heading up to a "slice of Heaven," with her family in tow, was the stuff that dreams are made of, and she made those dreams come true every chance she had. "Family" meant the world to Delores, especially her grandchildren who were her everything! The world has lost an "earthly angel," but Heaven has gained a "guardian angel" who will be watching over all of the lives she touched along life's way. Her legacy is sure to live on through the hearts and souls of the family & friends she loved and adored. Beloved wife of the late Frank. Dear mother of Cynthia (James) Jensen, Kathleen (Joseph) Burlager, and the late Patricia Maaske. Sister of Leona Wright and Bernice McGregor. Visitation for Delores will be on Friday, November 20 from 5:00-9:00pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are appreciated to the Ascension Lutheran Building Fund.
