I was looking for a set of twins by the name of Dennis and Denise on the internet and this is where the search led me. I don't expect for anybody to read this but for some strange reason I feel compel to leave this message just hoping that I am not the only person looking back at the past. As a former Detroiter, that grew up on the eastside I am curious as to whether or not Dennis and Denise ever lived on Crane between Vernor and Kercheval. From the first day I met Dennis and Nancy I knew right away they were both amazing people! So caring and giving!! They have both been a part of my life for over 5 years, it's very hard and very sad to imagine one without the other!! I know Dennis looked at Nancy as his angel! They both loved each other so much! Dennis was a kind and compassionate man, always happy and smiling! Definitely going to miss that!! Dennis will greatly be missed but he will live in our hearts forever!!

One of my last and finest moments of Dennis and Nancy, since I live across the street, was I saw them sitting outside together just as the sun was going down. They have this very sweet small area just big enough for 2 in front of there house, and there they were, like an Ol' married couple would be after supper. Speaking softly with what I believe was coming from their place, some nice e-z listening, I couldn't tell of what, but it just set the entire mood and that was Dennis & Nancy, laid back, sure of their love and just enjoying being together. I will so very much miss seeing the 2 of them together and God help me, they always were. They were one of those couples that did everything together. That's pure LOVE BABY!!

The Last time I saw Dennis, he of course was with his love in life, Nancy and they were sitting in this cute little are for 2 in the front of their home. Some soft groove, e-z listening, music was coming from their window (I thought) and they looked just like what they were, that ol' married couple that does everything together. Now that's some Good Love.....

For those of you who donât know who I am, my name is Morgan Cardamone. My mother is Nancy Cardamone. While getting all the arrangements together this week, whenever there was reference to my mother, words like companion or significant other were used. Neither of these words seem to describe truly what my mother was to Dennis. According to dictionary.com, one of the definitions for the word companion is a person who is frequently in the company of, associates with, or accompanies another and some synonyms are accomplice, ally, buddy, associate. Dennis and my mother were far more than just companions. Another word used is significant which is defined as a person, parent or peer, who has great influence on one's behavior and self-esteem. My mother was Dennisâ better half, his right arm and so was Dennis to my mom. When there was one, the other was not too far behind. There was rarely a time when you didnât see both together. They were a conjoined unit, a pair, a force to be reckoned with. Growing up, it was only my mother and I at home and because of that we were extremely close and are very protective of each other. As I grew up, my mother of course wanted and tried to date. I, unfortunately, did almost anything I could to make sure that that didnât happen. I worried that someone might come in-between her and I and end up taking her away from me. I couldnât have that. You can say that I was selfish and made it seem that she was my property and no one was going to change that. Until Dennis came along. From the beginning, I always knew that Dennis was different than the others. With Dennis, it felt as though all he wanted was to add into a family that was already made. I never felt as though my relationship with my mother was threatened by Dennis being in the picture. He made my mother smile and laugh constantly. He made her happier than I had seen her in many years. I never worried that my mother wasnât being taken care of or wasnât happy. As their dating progressed

The other night while at home, my mother said, âMorgan do you know the last thing that Dennis did?â I asked, âWhat?â She said, âI looked at him while on the gernee before they took him into the ambulance and rubbed my nose to him. He struggled to bring his hand up high enough to rub his nose, but he eventually got enough energy to get it up high enough to flick his nose back at herâ. I responded with, âThat counts mom. It countsâ. Teary eyed she nodded. I want to end with a status I posted on my facebook this past Sunday afternoon.
He was a wonderful man. Kind-hearted and sweet. He was always polite and acted like a gentleman. Smart and witty. He loved my mother dearly and she loved him just the same. He treated her like she deserves to be treated and for that I will forever be grateful. And with that love he went to be with Jesus this morning. He will forever be in our hearts and spirits. Dennis Brown, they got a great one up there today. We love you and will see you again someday.

As their dating progressed, he eventually moved into our townhome in Roseville. Since, I was already away at college at this point; it was only my mother at home so I very much enjoyed her having someone there with her so she wouldnât be so lonely. When my mom would call Dennis âpumpkinâ, I would joke with her and say, âI thought I was your pumpkin?â She would respond with, âYouâre my pumpkin #1 and Dennis is my pumpkin #2. With being an item, Dennis of course started coming to family functions with the Cardamoneâs. My family instantly took to him. He frequently said that he always felt welcomed by us and felt a part of our family. We have numerous fond memories and stories of Dennis. Whether they are from family gatherings, trips, conversations, etc. Each one of us can tell you a story if not more that involved him. They had a nickname for him, âSaint Dennisâ. This past July, the Cardamones took their yearly family vacation up north to Crystal Lake. Dennis and my mother both attended. A couple days before the end of the trip, some of my aunts and uncles wanted to watch the sunset at a landmark called Point Bestie Lighthouse that overlooks Lake Michigan. My mother and I did not attend this outing, but Dennis did. The end of the slideshow presentation that is playing in the back shows four pictures from that outing. Thereâs a picture of Dennis with my two aunts, Karen and Marian. Two pictures of Dennis on the beach, including my personal favorite of him sitting in the sand and finally the sunset itself. From the stories and the pictures of the outing, it was an absolutely beautiful sunset. Those were the last pictures Dennis took. He was happy, living life and seeing some of the most beautiful things in this world. Ever since I was a little girl my mom and I used to do this thing. Whenever we werenât right next to each other, but wanted the other to know that we loved them we would rub our nose. The other night while at home, my mo

i may have never met him, but from reading everything that is being said about Dennis, he seems like a wonderful man. took great care of my cousins Nancy and her daughter Morgan. the world may of lost a person, but his memories and presence are always there. RIP Dennis!

I met Dennis when he was a teenager. He came to live with me and my family for a spell, I know he was always kind and gentle with me. He was extremely passionate about all that he did. When he and Nancy came to Florida, approximately four years ago, I ran to him and remember feeling so much joy inside. I truly loved my cousin. I am happy that before he made his transition from this life that he was loved and found someone he could trust and love in Nancy. And, I believe he found Peace. As we embrace the passing of one person, let us remember to truly love those who are still with us...Let love be our guide in all our daily affairs. Be the one who stands for Peace and Harmony! My Uncle Dennis has ALWAYS made sure I knew he loved me. If nothing else he always told me how beautiful I was & when you're a little chubby black girl, that is VERY important. I didn't see him as often as I probably should have throughout my life, but he was surely NO STRANGER & I love him very much & will miss him from the depths of my heart!

Dennis enjoyed our family time at Crystal Lake on many occasions. That made me very happy because being up north in Michigan is one of the highlights of the year. One of my last memories of Dennis, is of him, sitting out on the porch of the Honor Motel reading the paper. Just like how things should be. I don't have a picture of it but we honked the horn as we drove by.

I had lost touch with Dennis and then one day, about 6 years ago, Nancy introduced herself and when she introduced Dennis, we were already friends, so we gave each other a long awaited (where have you been) hug. That is the best memory as Dennis looked so much better. He had suffered cancer (I didn't know) and Nancy was nursing him back to health and what a job she did. Nancy was sent to Dennis & he to her! She needed someone & so did he, in different ways, but ways the other fulfilled. I know Dennis called Nancy his Angel, as he told me himself, "Tracy, she is my Angel, I don't know what I would have done without her." I told him, "well don't even worry about that now, just love one another and be there for each other" and they were!! Nancy, I'm so sorry for my reaction to the news, I really broke down. I guess sometimes you just don't even think of someone you got used to being right there, across the street, now gone. I just don't know how you're holding up, but I know Dennis would say, "Stay Strong My Love, & Carry On."

Nancy, I am so sorry about the loss of a fantastic man. He was such a joy to always see and we always got him to laugh. We really gave him heck the last time he came in the pharmacy but of course he laughed. I will really miss him and there is nothing that I can say to comfort your broken heart. I just want yyou to know if there is anything at all you need please dont hesitate to call me. I love u nancy and will be praying for u that everyday just gets easier and easier. My fondest memories of Dennis are of the words of wisdom he had to share with the willing listener. A jovial person, Dennis would adopt a very serious look when he was about to say something he strongly believed would be beneficial to you. The Brown's being my closest relatives, I spent a lot of time with them. Dennis treated me more like a little sister, than a cousin. Consequently, Dennis exhibited a brotherly, and loving protectionist demeanor towards me while growing up...especially during my teenaged years. :-) I grew up, hopefully matured and the responsibilities of life didn't have us see each other as often. Yet, no matter how much time had passed, when I did see him, Dennis always embraced me with arms and smile that resonated the love he felt for his family. Thank you for your love, Dennis. Dennis was a wonderful addition to our family when he met Nancy several years ago. He was a sweet, gentle soul. He always had interesting things to add to conversations, and was a most kind and considerate man. We shared many family meals and celebrations with him, and we always looked forward to seeing him. He participated in our family vacations Up North, where we enjoyed lots of laughs, outdoor adventures, and camaraderie. He took great care of our sister, and gave her much love and companionship.
