Diane Jean Schuster

Diane was the beloved wife of Richard Schuster for 67 wonderful years. Loving mother of Mark (Elizabeth) Schuster, Stephen (Loren) Schuster, the late Eric Schuster, Bethany DeVlaminck, and Carrie (David) Agnello. Treasured grandmother of Erica (Marc), Andrew, Derek, Devin, Samantha, Robert, Nicole, Adam, Benjamin, and Nicholas. Proud great-grandmother of Marion, Clara, John, and Leo. Dear sister of the late Barbara.

A woman of deep faith and a generous heart, Diane was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Warren. She was very active in her church community, participating in the ladies’ groups and sharing her faith by teaching Sunday school. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she gave generously to numerous charities, always thinking of others and finding ways to make a difference.

Diane attended Wayne State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She began her nursing career at Sinai Hospital in Detroit before dedicating herself to raising her family. Her caring nature continued through years of volunteering at her children’s schools, where she helped the school nurse and assisted in the library. She remained a devoted and involved mother and grandmother, always enjoying opportunities to watch her grandchildren grow and take part in their lives.

In her quieter moments, Diane enjoyed sitting on her porch swing, tending to her yard, and keeping everything looking beautiful, from her flowers to the neat lines left by the lawn mower. One of her favorite traditions was playing Scrabble with her granddaughter at least once a week, a special time together that they both cherished. Whether spending time with family, caring for her home, serving her church, or giving to others, Diane found joy in the simple things and in the people she loved.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21, from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 31654 Mound Road, in Warren.

In lieu of flowers, any donations made to St. Paul United Church of Christ or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be deeply appreciated.
