Dixie Pollock, age 81, passed away January 5, 2025. Wife of the late Mitchell J. Pollock. Survived by children Kim Teske (Jeff), Robin Dries (Robert), Jason Dries (Brenda); stepchildren, Tammy Cunningham and Barry Pollock. Proud grandmother of 13; Ryan, Trevor, Ian, Jeremy, Quentin, Ethan, Joseph, Rosa, Xavier, Zach, Kodi, Joshua and Jessica. Great-grandmother of eight. Predeceased by stepdaughter Tracey Kormos and sister Shirlee Misson.
Dixie lived life with zest, always embracing new adventures. A passionate camper, she traveled to countless destinations and enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors. She took great pride in her home in Barryton, Michigan, a secluded haven in the woods, where she could hunt on her own land and host family and friends for gatherings. Her home was always alive with activity, especially during large family get-togethers, when tents and campers dotted the property. Dixie was a true expert in camping, whether in a tent or camper. Dixie was also a gifted cook who loved preparing meals for large groups.
Alongside her husband, Mitch, Dixie spent her summers in Michigan and headed to warmer climates in the winter, often settling in Port Aransas, TX, or Laughlin, NV. No matter where she went, Dixie had a circle of friends waiting for her, many from her time in an archery club. She had a special talent for pulling pranks with her friends and loved bonding over shared laughter. Always curious about local cultures, she enjoyed meeting new people and could often be found chatting at the local pub, whether with old friends or someone new.
Dixie also embraced the challenge of raising a blended family, lovingly and successfully guiding her six kids through life.
A visitation for Dixie will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Rd, Warren, Michigan 48088, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.
