

Dominic Francis Caruso, age 51 a resident of Royal Oak, died Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Dominic was born September 26, 1959 in Detroit, Michigan the son of the late Ralph Caruso and the late Virginia (nee: Stieber) Caruso. Dominic was a vibrant and outgoing person'wherever he went everyone knew him. From the local markets he loved to shop at, to doctors' offices, pharmacies, and especially the Royal Oak library where he was a regular patron, they all loved him. Dominic was also an avid reader; his favorite genre was biographies of Hollywood legends. He also loved watching movies, especially vintage Hollywood. He had a passion for music, jazz, the oldies, and Motown, among his favorites. Dominic was a terrific cook and loved trying new recipes, but his real passion was baking. He loved to entertain, and his favorite time of year was Christmas where he would spend weeks preparing unbelievable baked goods for his family and friends, as well as decorating his home. He made sure everyone had a good time. Although he was a social person, he also enjoyed spending quiet evenings with his loved ones listening to music, talking, or watching movies. Also his own private solitude was spent walking his beloved dog Banks through the neighborhood, and inevitably stopping to chat with his neighbors. Dominic spent 20 yrs. working for AT&T as a customer service representative. He concluded his working career with Baker Design Center in Troy, where he enjoyed working with the design staff.Over the years, Dominic fought his health issues with courage and grace. He often drew strength from his partner, his family and his many friends who encouraged and loved him and will be forever enriched by him.Dominic was the loving son of the late Ralph and Virginia Caruso. He is the dear partner of Matthew Fisher. Beloved brother of Gwendolyn (Jack) Shire, Ralph (Diane) Caruso, Kathy (Robert) Rzeszutek, Gerard Caruso, and Paul (Diane) Caruso. Dominic is also survived by his Godson Kevin Rzeszutek and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. A Memorial visitation will be held Sunday October 2, 2011, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ' mile), from 3pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 7pm. Celebrating the Memorial Service will be Rev. Fr. Larry Petke.
