

Dominic Cusmano, age 91 of Harrison Township, died Friday, October 11, 2013 at his residence. He was born on May 9, 1922 in Detroit, son of the late Joseph and the late Filippa (nee: Lucido) Cusmano. With thanks and praise from a grateful nation, we pay homage to Dominic for his service to our country during World War II in the U.S. Army. Having attained the rank of Sergeant as a combat infantryman, he also served as a Squad Leader and was decorated for his expert marksmanship with a various number of rifles. Serving from December 19,1942 until his separation on December 28, 1945, Dominic was also decorated for his 4 tours of duty in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations, specifically in New Guinea and the Philippines. For the call to duty he so proudly served, we honor Dominic for the sacrifices made and the bravery extended in helping to preserve the freedoms and liberties we enjoy today,...because he was there.Dominic was the beloved husband of the late Doris, and the loving father of Catherine (Dennis) Walden, Joseph (Susan) Cusmano, Sandra (Robert) Fallow, and Lori (Harold) Brock. Cherished grandfather of 12 and great-grandfather of 6. Dearest brother of Grace Kudsin.Visitation for Dominic will be held on Sunday, October 13th from 3-9pm, with a 7:00pm Funeral Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Road) in Warren. Interment, with military honors, will take place at 11:00am on Monday at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are welcomed to the McLaren Hospice of Sterling Heights.
