Donald B. Dixon, age 55 of Roseville, died Monday, January 6, 2014. He was born on April 22, 1958 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, son of Roy & Nancy (nee: Haight) Dixon. Don was a true handyman! If it needed fixin'…Don was the man for the job. And often, he worked his magic with brother, Wayne in tow. Together, the two of them were a great compliment to each other and performed some incredible tasks. But mostly, it was about brotherhood and the special bond that Don and Wayne shared. They were like Abbott & Costello,…Roseville Style! When he wasn't working, Don's favorite pastime was enjoyed in the company of his neighborhood buddies and friends. Lord only knows the countless hours that were spent in good conversation, creating memories to treasure, and exercising together with those familiar "elbow bends." They were truly a supportive bunch. Whether it was Don doing them a favor, or them coming to his aid, there was never a question of the caring bonds of friendship that held them together,… like human super glue.Like many men, Don was known for being quite the devout sports fan. Though it really didn't matter what the sporting venue was, as he liked them all, he was especially fond of the game of hockey,…and his esteemed Detroit Red Wings! The boys in the winged-wheel provided him years of welcomed entertainment, multiple Stanley Cups, and a rich history unlike any other sport out there. Obviously, Don was pumped over the recent competition at Comerica Park when the Winter Classic came to town. And how fitting that the opponents, the Toronto Maple Leafs, just happened to be his father's favorite team. With all of his Hockeytown memories, the rivalry between he and his Dad always provided the perfect storm for some stern competition,…which was gladly welcomed. After all, hockey is about a good fight at times, EH? Yet of all the things most treasured and enjoyed to Don, the love for his sons was immeasurable and deep, and he couldn't have been more proud of them. Family, in general, meant the world to Don,…but when it came to his boys, words simply fell short in describing and defining the gift that God had given through both John Wayne and David. In his own unique way, Don left his mark on this world, and a genuine imprint on the hearts and souls of all who were blessed to know him. He will be missed immensely and loved eternally.Donald was the beloved husband of Kim. Loving son of Roy & Nancy Dixon. Dear father of John Wayne Dixon and David Dixon. Cherished grandfather of Brantley, and brother of Brian Dixon, Linda (Frank) Monaco, Larry (Lisa) Dixon, John (Christine) Dixon, and the late Wayne Dixon, his brother & "Best Bud," too. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. An Open House, in memory of Donald, will be held on Saturday, January 11th from 1-6pm at his home in St. Clair Shores, MI. Arrangements were entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren. Please share memories of Donald at his memory book.
