Donna was born in Detroit to the late Thomas and Nanny Sue Balint, but raised by the amazing Judith Michalak. She shared 15 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband Tim, and together they built 25 years filled with love, laughter, and devotion to family. They shared an immense love for not just one another, but for their dogs Charlie, Buddy, Lily, Moose, Chip, and Willow as well.
Family was at the center of everything Donna did. She was a phenomenal mom who was always spending time with one of her children and rarely spent a moment alone. She deeply loved traveling, especially anywhere tropical, and treasured trips “up north” in Michigan, particularly to Mackinaw City. Donna also loved going to Lions games with her daughters. She had been looking forward to an upcoming trip to Hawaii, where she surely would have enjoyed her favorite part of any vacation, relaxing on the beach surrounded by family.
Donna created countless cherished memories with her grandchildren, especially during the annual summer camping trips they eagerly anticipated each year. Christmas was always celebrated at her daughter Courtney’s home, but Donna’s cooking was the true centerpiece of the holiday. Everyone had a favorite dish she made, though her homemade pierogies were the undeniable family favorite. Donna never measured recipes she cooked entirely from the heart.
Beloved wife of Tim. Loving mother(mammy) of Nicole, Stacie, and Courtney. Devoted grandmother of Mackenzie(the sprinkles to her cupcake), Melena, Zander, and Zavien. Cherished “Gram Gram” of Zayne. Caring sister of Judy (Jerry), Kevin (Donna), the late Michael, and Cindy. Loving aunt of Allan, Savannah, Hunter, Parker, Brandon, Bianca, and Bradley. First time Great Aunt to Harvey. She is also survived by her lifelong friend Sherri, along with many other loving family members and dear friends.
A celebration of Donna’s life will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations in Donna’s honor may be made to the donor’s choice of charity supporting those affected by Alzheimer's disease and dementia, a cause that was close to her heart.
