Donna M. Wood, age 62 of Clio, died Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Macomb Center in Warren. She was born on March 4, 1951 in Detroit, the daughter of Marion (nee: Kowalcyk) and the late Richard Michalowicz. For this woman who possessed countless passions in life, nobody would argue that the greatest of those was found in the unquestionable & unbreakable love and friendship she shared with her husband of 44 years, Jim. After being swept off her feet by her soulmate and groom, she would join him in building a home together, raising 4 beautiful children, and growing deeper in love with each passing day.A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Donna's days were spent pouring the best of herself into the caring realm of Homemaker. Nurturing the warmth and glow of a happy home, in all its forms, meant the world to her,...and" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">...and she accomplished it all with such style. Speaking of style, this tribute would be remiss if not to mention her acclaim with chicken. Like most Mom's out there, she definitely knew her way around the kitchen and how to make a meal special. But her crowning achievement was truly found in the appropriately named, "Donna Wood Chicken." It was a simple recipe devised over years of practice, and a recipe that was enjoyed and copied by many. Nobody left her table hungry, especially when it came to her infamous chicken delight. When she wasn't tending to the needs of home & hearth, some of Donna's favorite escapes and pastimes were found in her love of playing games. Whether it was those shared in the company of family and friends, or the fun she derived from watching the Game Show Network on television, gaming was a part of her spirit and something she enjoyed immensely. Her gaming proclivities included yet another form as well,...in that of the casino nature as a VIP at any 1cent machine. It wasn't so much about "high rollin'" as it was about the "high times" of having a blast and making memories. But of all the passions she possessed, none could hold a candle to the love and compassion she held for her children and grandchildren. Being a Mom and Grandma meant everything to Donna, and each moment in their company just added to the storehouse of memories she was amassing through the years. She loved them with all that she had to give,...and then some, to be true. And not merely towards her family, Donna was a precious soul to everyone who was blessed to know her. Never a complainer, her positive influence touched the hearts of many,...as well did her great sense of humor. She had her own way of bringing joy into the lives of others, and a heart of gold that was always loving & giving. Gone far too soon from our presence here, may there be solace in the love and memories she leaves for all to cherish and treasure who were impacted by her life and influences. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally. Donna was the beloved wife of James. Loving mother of Ginny (Aldante) Foster, Chelsea (Keith Smith), Tracy, and Mickey. Devoted grandmother of Emily, Wyatt and Kaylie. Dear daughter of Marion and the late Richard Michalowicz. Dearest sister of Gerald, Paul (Nancy), Ed (Jackie), and Michael. Visitation for Donna will be held on Friday, August 30th from 3-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Road) in Warren. Her Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday at 12:00pm - Noon at the funeral home. Please share memories of Donna at her memory book.
