Mrs. Doris Marie Wouters

Doris Marie Wouters, age 73, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. She was born on September 9, 1953, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, to the late Raymond Lambert and the late Mary Ann (nee Buckhanon) Lambert.

Doris grew up in Roseville and graduated from Roseville High School in 1971. She spent many years working as a bartender at Senior Froggy’s, Wishing Well, Sports Factory, and Te Roma. She had a way of making people feel comfortable, welcomed, and cared for, and her personality left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

On May 12, 1990, Doris married the love of her life, Hank Wouters, in Harper Woods, Michigan. Their love was a beautiful partnership that carried them through 36 years of marriage. In 2009, Doris and Hank made their home in Warren, where they continued building a life filled with love, laughter, family, and memories. Together, they traveled, enjoyed five cruises, and shared countless adventures. Through it all, Hank was not only her husband, but her best friend and the person by her side through every chapter of their life together.

But if you knew Doris, you knew that family was her heart.

There was nothing she loved more than her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She cherished every moment with them and was the kind of Nena who was always there when someone needed her. Whether it was helping Aria with her homework, offering a helping hand, listening when someone needed to talk, or simply being there, Doris gave her family something that can never be replaced which was her unconditional love.

Doris was caring, loving, gentle, and so much fun to be around. She had a soft heart, but she was mighty in every way that mattered. She did not hold grudges or carry hatred in her heart. She believed in giving people the benefit of the doubt and chose kindness whenever she could.

She faced many health battles throughout her life, and those battles were not easy. Yet Doris continued to fight. She fought not only for herself, but because she wanted to be strong for the people she loved. Even when she was tired, even when things were difficult, her family remained her reason to keep going.

That was Doris.

She loved deeply. She loved without conditions. And she showed that love over and over again, in the little things, in the big things, and in all the moments in between.

Doris enjoyed trying her luck at the casino, cheering on the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers, and watching University of Michigan football. She loved to travel with Hank and treasured the memories they made together. But the greatest adventures of her life were not found on a cruise ship or at a casino—they were found in the moments she spent surrounded by the people she loved.

Doris leaves behind a lifetime of love that will continue long after today.

Her children will carry her love with them. Her grandchildren will tell stories about their Nena. Her great-grandchildren will grow up knowing about the woman whose heart was big enough to love generations of her family. And the people who knew Doris will remember her kindness, her gentle spirit, her strength, her laughter, and the way she made them feel loved.

Her family was everything to her, and now it is their turn to carry that love forward.

The battles Doris fought in this life are finally over. She no longer has to hurt, struggle, or fight. She can rest peacefully in the loving arms of God, knowing that the love she gave so freely will continue through every person she touched.

Doris may no longer be here to hold her family in her arms, but her love will forever hold them together.

She was the beloved wife of Hank Wouters. Loving mother of Carol (Rob Willard) Chrzan, Michelle Binienda, Chris Wouters, Kyle (Paige) Wouters, and the late Chene Burton. Devoted Nena of Austin (Milena) Binienda, Andrew (Kelsey) Chrzan, Alyssa Chrzan, Natalie (Ricky) Steele, Chene Burton Jr., Taylor Burton, and Aria Wouters. Great-Nena of Aiden, Enzo, and Asher Binienda, and Braxton, Cash, and Mia Steele. Sister of Victor (Mary) Lambert and Mike Lambert. Niece of her beloved Uncle “Bucky” Buckhanon. Sister-in-law of Beth Wouters, Margie (Mike) Cyplik, Ken (Nancy) Wouters, Nancy Kapral, Carole (Larry) Garner, Val (Jim) Seagram, and the late Christopher Wouters and Paul Wouters. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Visitation for Doris will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 p.m., at D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12½ Mile Road), Warren.
