Dorothy Bozynski, age 88, formerly of Warren Michigan, died Tuesday, September 24, 2013 in Astoria, New York while living with her daughter. Dorothy was born September 3, 1925 in Throop, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Joseph and the late Stefania (nee: Soboleski) Dembosky.Dorothy moved to Michigan when she was 17 years old and was first employed as a telephone operator for Michigan Bell. Later, Dorothy married her husband, William, and the two settled in Dearborn where they raised their two children.Dorothy was the consummate "Stay at Home Mom" who found great enjoyment in cooking for her family and tending to the outside landscape. Creating things of beauty came natural for Dorothy. Whether it was the many culinary delights that garnished the dinner table, or the tender-loving-care she poured into nurturing the gardens around her property,...she definitely knew how to express the artiste within. She was also known for her ability to care for others in so many ways, a trait that was both immeasurable and unmatched. Mrs. Bozynski's love and compassion was so immense that it extended not only to her own children, but to all the kids in the neighborhood as well. She became a caregiver and "second mom" to a family who lost their mother,...and the relationship continues to this day. Dorothy and her husband resided in Dearborn until 1984 and eventually moved to Warren where Dorothy was a faithful member of St. Malachy Catholic Church. In her later years, Dorothy loved playing Bingo and spending time with her family. She will be remembered by all as a loving and devoted person whose life was a testament to her faith in God, a life that touched countless hearts and souls along the way.
