

Dorothy M. Brower, 81, of Clinton Township died Thursday, April 17, 2008 at her home. She was born December 15, 1926 in Detroit. After graduating from Domincan High School, Dorothy began working as a stenographer for the U.S. Military at the Pentagon. In 1948 she moved back to Detroit and married her high school sweetheart, Foster. In the early 1970s Dorothy went back to college to earn her Associates Degree. She retired from Mt. Clemens General Hospital where she worked in admitting. Dorothy was an avid bridge player. She loved to feed the birds and truly loved all animals. She was an incredibly kind woman. Dorothy is survived by her children, Karen Brower, Martin Brower, Genie (Mark) Collins, Kyle Smith, Laura (Brian) OLewin; grandchildren, Melanie (Scott) Sobas, Matthew (Rebecca) Mathers, Nathan Brower, Nicholas OLewin, Mitchell OLewin, Meghan Collins, Natalie Smith, David Smith and Rudy Smith; great grandchildren, Weston Sobas, Venessa Sobas and Maxwell Mathers; siblings, Elmer (Millie) Gietzen, Raymond (Margaret) Gietzen, Evelyn (Don) Bols and Richard Gietzen; Brothers-in-law, Harold Dumas and Andrew Derylo. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Foster; parents, Joseph and Irene Gietzen; and siblings, Rita Dumas, Joe (Marion) Gietzen, Marian LeFevre and Lorraine Derylo. Visitation for Dorothy will be Sunday from 2-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover at Common (12 Mile). She will be in state Monday, 9:30 am until 10:00 am Mass at St. Clement Catholic Church. The service will be officiated by Fr. Mike Gawlowski. Interment will be at St. Clement Cemetery.
