Dorothy Ann Brzostowski

Dorothy A. Brzostowski, age 86 of Warren, died Friday, June 26, 2009 at the Father Murray Nursing Center in Center Line, Michigan. The loving daughter of Joseph & Harriett (nee: Dudzinski) Dudek, she was born on April 26, 1923 in Hamtramck, Michigan. Dorothy attended St. Ladislaus High School in Hamtramck, where in 1938 she met the young man who would eventually become her partner for life. In 1942, she and Edward would, officially, begin dating. Over the next five years, the two would go on to build a loving relationship, of which three of those years found Edward in the U.S. Navy serving our country. Then, on September 13, 1947 at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, the two became one as they walked up that aisle as husband & wife. Together, they shared a loving 61 years of marriage. Dorothy was employed for years as a Window Trimmer for the Federal's Department Store in downtown Hamtramck. She possessed amazing skills in creating eye-appealing presentations for the store's patrons. This creativity was also expressed when adorning the family's home for Christmas. When not working, Dorothy enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens and exercising her brainpower in solving crossword puzzles. She's a loving caregiver who will be missed immensely. Along with her beloved Edward, Dorothy leaves 13 nieces and nephews to cherish her memory. Sister of the late Arnold (Alice) Dudek, the late Raymond (the late Frances) Dudek, and the late Thomas Dudek. Visitation for Dorothy will be Monday from 5-9pm and Tuesday from 2-9pm, with a 7pm Scripture Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd.) in Warren. She will lie in state on Wednesday from 9am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 9:30am at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, 31555 Hoover Road in Warren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Dorothy's name, to the Father Murray Nursing Center, 8444 Engleman, Center Line, Michigan 48015. Please share memories of Dorothy at her guest book.
