Dorothy Mary "Dottye" Ottolini, age 85 of Warren, died Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Windemere Park Assisted Living Center in Warren, Michigan. She was born February 26, 1931 in Detroit, daughter of the late Gaston and the late Irma Cools.Mrs. Ottolini was deeply involved with her church, St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, for her, church was not merely a Sunday morning ritual,...it was a major part of her life. Dottye and her husband Albert were avid volunteers and served many roles at the church. The other aspect of Dorothy's life that reigned supreme was her love of her family., she would selflessly put their needs ahead of her own. Dorothy's family would tell you she was the boss. Not only was she the glue that held the family together, she was the business manager and CEO of the Ottolini family. Dottye was not all work and no play, when time allowed she enjoyed playing bridge with family and friends and an occasional trip to the casino to tempt "lady luck". No matter what was going on in Dottye's life, she had the rare gift of being able to keep a smile on her face. She never let the events of her life affect her mood. For Dottye, sitting down at the end of the day, enjoying a Manhattan, was like hitting the reset button on every day.Dottye was the beloved wife and best friend of the late Albert, the two shared 60 years of marriage. Loving mother of Richard Ottolini, Robert (Theresa) Ottolini, Terese (Michael) Ackerman, Martin (Mary) Ottolini, Sue (Rich) Matthew, Jeanne (Jim) Reggio, and Paul (Darlene) Ottolini. She was the loving grandmother of eighteen and great-grandmother of six. Visitation for Dottye will be held Friday, September 2nd from 3-9 pm at the D.S.
