Dorothy Evelyn Wriston, born in the hills of West Virginia, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Ordie Wriston, cherished mother of Sheila, Steve, and Kelvin, adored grandmother of John, Paul, Amanda, Katherine, Wesley, Gregory, and Elisabeth, and treasured great-grandmother of Lydia, Alice, Jonas, Kyalie, Ila, Samuel, Eva, Wesley, Edie, and Quinn. Dear sister of Jim Houston.
Dorothy was preceded in passing by her sisters Dolly and Gardenia.
Dorothy was a dedicated host, caretaker, and homemaker who brought warmth and love into the lives of all those around her. She was known for her exceptional cooking, baking, sewing, painting, and her passion for preserving her family's ancestry. Her wisdom, light, and unconditional love touched the hearts of everyone she encountered.
Dorothy lived her life in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ, exemplifying goodness and mercy in all her actions. Her legacy of love and compassion will be carried on by the family she held dear. Though she may have passed from this world, Dorothy will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her, and her spirit will continue to shine brightly through the lives she touched.
May her soul rest in peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A visitation for Dorothy will be held Monday, April 8, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, Warren, Michigan 48088. An instate will occur Tuesday, April 9, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, 32000 Schoenherr Road, Warren, Michigan 48088. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 10:00 AM, 32000 Schoenherr Road, Warren, Michigan 48088. A prayer service will take place at 12:00 PM at White Chapel Cemetery, 621 West Long Lake Road, in Troy.
