Douglas Franklin Anderson, age 59, died November 30, 2021 at his residence at Martha T. Berry MCF in Mt. Clemens where he lived for 4 years. Doug was born on May 21, 1962 in Royal Oak, MI and grew up in Warren where he spent most of his life.
Doug attended Warren High School on Arden Ave. graduating in 1980. He was a percussionist in Symphony & Marching Bands and was happiest when he had a pair of drumsticks in his hands. He continued his education at Macomb County Community College. Doug was a small engine mechanic working in the Village of Warren. For a time, he had a 1970 AMX he enjoyed showing at local car shows.
Doug was diagnosed approximately 15 years ago with Myotonic Dystrophy. As more time went by it took more and more of a toll on his body.
Doug is survived by his mother, Ruth Ann Anderson of Sterling Heights; brother Keith (Judy Olson) of Ludington; Jeff (Shari) of Warren; 3 nephews & 1 niece and her family.
Doug was preceded in death by his father, Franklin L. Anderson.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Rd. at Masonic Rd., Warren between 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021 at First United Methodist Church, 5005 Chicago Rd., Warren at 1:30 PM; dessert and coffee to follow.
