Edward R. Drzewiecki, age 79 of Clinton Township, Michigan, died Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at the Medilodge Nursing Home in Sterling Heights, Michigan. He was born on October 11, 1934 in Algonac, Michigan, son of the late George and the late Frances (nee: Rajewicz) Drzewiecki. For his career path, Edward chose the field of machining and manufacturing where he honed his skills as a Tool Maker. After years of extending the utmost in dedicated service to his employer, Ed decided to dip his feet in the entrepreneurial pool and try it on his own. So it was that in 1966, a dream became reality when B & J Industries was born,…and the world of precision machining would never be the same. With his own brand of professional excellence, Ed's company was a success and provided the manufacturing world a product that stood above the rest. When he wasn't working, some of Ed's favorite pastimes were found in the fun of engines, which came in a variety of forms. For those times when he wanted to escape the bounds of gravity, it meant climbing aboard his airplane and enjoying the whir of the air he was cutting. Another passion was the fun that the engine on his boat provided. Getting out on the water brought him countless hours of joy and pleasure, and boating was definitely a sweet release that his hard work ethics afforded. From a more unique perspective, an engine that was more of a hobby was found in his antique tractor. Ed was quite proud of his time-worn acquisition, a collector's piece from days-gone-by.Like most men, Ed liked his sports,…but his sporting blood was mightily infused when it came to his boys in the wheeled jerseys, the Detroit Red Wings. There's been no greater supporter or fan of our multi-victorious champions than Ed, and never a question of where his allegiances lay. Perhaps now he can be our coach in the sky and send down some of that supernatural power to win us another cup.So much could be shared of the things that made Ed stand out. But, certainly, it's the area restaurant owners who will miss him the most. Known affectionately by all as the "Restaurant King," Ed's appreciation and penchant for eating out was a notable trait of his. One could actually say,…he had a "hunger" for it! And it wasn't merely about frequenting a handful of his favorite eateries. No,…he enjoyed them all, touting that he had visited most all of the local restaurants throughout the years. It's been said, "when you're eating, you're happy,"…so Ed, obviously, lived life with a huge smile on his face. But there was no greater joy in Ed's life than that which he shared with his family, friends and loved ones. Family meant the world to him, and he cherished each moment spent creating the memories that he held close to his heart. Ed was a blessed man who wasn't stingy in passing it on,…and touched a multitude of souls along life's way. He will be missed immensely and loved eternally.Edward was the beloved husband of Ann (nee: Dysarczyk). Dear father of Kim (Steve) Lewis, Brian (Denise) Drzewiecki, and Jim (Michele) Drzewiecki. Loving grandfather of Mike, Matt, Dan, and Lizz.Visitation for Edward will be held on Friday, October 18th from 3-9pm, with a 7pm Scripture Service, at the D.S.
