Eleanor H. Heymes

She is the beloved wife of 60 years to the late William J. Heymes. Loving mother of Laura (Pat) Cubbler, Julie Walters, and Bill (the late Joyce) Heymes. Cherished grandmother of Brian (Sarah), Mark (Jessica), Monica, Eric, Haley, Sean, and Erin. Treasured great grandmother of Emma and Lauren. She is the youngest of 3 kids; the late Robert (Audrey) Gretel and the late Margaret (Bob) Schumacher.

Eleanor began her married career as an elementary school secretary for the Warren Woods School District. As her children grew, she transferred to the Administration Office as a bookkeeper. She gained many friendships over those years and maintained them by attending retiree luncheons. In retirement Eleanor volunteered at local hospitals.

After moving to American House, Eleanor was active in many activities. She organized a Euchre club as well as a food improvement committee and was always there to welcome new residents.

Eleanor was best known for her warm smile, kind words and loved to hold your hand. She was extremely devoted to her family, which meant everything to her. The family matriarch. Her family promises to honor her memory by continuing to lead our lives the way she lived hers.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8, from 2:00pm until 8:00pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, in Warren. Instate will be the following day from 11:30am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00pm at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions to Fr. Solanus Casey Center and the Hospice of Michigan in Eleanor's memory would be greatly appreciated.
