

Eleanor Katherine Urban (nee: Kempinski), age 96 of Mount Pleasant formerly of Detroit and Warren died Sunday, November 06, 2005 at Tendercare Nursing Home in Mount Pleasant Michigan. Mrs. Urban was born May 15, 1909 in Lee, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Ignatius Kempinski and the late Catherine (nee: Sudol) Kempinski. Eleanor is the dearest mother of John P., and Frank J. Urban. Mother in-law of the late Bernice Urban, and the late Dorothy Urban. Sister of Walter Kemp, Frank Kemp, Betty Bosavage, Matilda Zolnerowicz, and the late Anna, Stasia, Leo, and Phil. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and many friends. Mrs. Urban was the beloved wife of the late John J. Urban. Mrs. Urban moved to Michigan with her family in the late 1920s. She spent most of her adult life in Detroit where she raised her family and faithfully attended St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Later Mrs. Urban moved to Warren and became very involved with St. Sylvester Church as a member and volunteer. During her life she worked as a talented seamstress, and was very proud of the fact she made Maywest Life Vests for the military during WWII, and made the school uniforms for St. Sylvester Catholic School in Warren. Mrs. Urban was a proud member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Red Hat Society. Her family will fondly remember her great Polish Polka dancing, Polish cooking, sense of humor, and her devotion to the Catholic Church. Visitation will be Wednesday November 9th, from 5-9 pm, and Thursday 1-9 pm, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd. at Common, (12 mile). A Rosary service will be held Thursday at 8 pm. Mrs. Urban will lie in state Friday 9:30 am at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, until the time of Funeral Mass 10:00 am. Officiating the funeral Mass will be Rev. Fr. Fares. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemtery in Detroit. Please share at the guest book.
