Emily Mary Fleischer

Emily Mary Fleischer, age 94 of Warren, died Friday, December 19, 2014 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. She was born on March 19, 1920 in Struthers, Ohio, daughter of the late Kasper and the late Mary (nee: Swierz) Kosiek. At 94 years young, Emily was a kind, strong, selfless and loving woman. She was intelligent and funny, and always had a witty comment or quip, keeping her loved ones laughing and on their toes. She was fiercely independent and feisty, and up until just a few months ago lived on her own and still drove herself around town. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Emily was known as Mom, Grandma Emmy, and Busia to her loved ones. She loved her family immensely and took great joy in spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She never passed up an opportunity to cook a nice meal for her family, and was known especially for making traditional Polish foods and delicious apple pies. Aside from time with her family, one of Emily's favorite pastimes included playing the piano, a gift which she passed down to her daughters and granddaughters. She was a thrifty woman who also enjoyed shopping and loved to find a good deal. Emily will be missed immensely and loved eternally, but will continue to live on in memory and spirit.Emily was the beloved wife of the late Joseph. Dear mother of Carolyn (Raymond) Dembek and Laureen (John) Chambors. Loving grandmother of Michelle, Teresa, Lisa, Sara, and great-grandmother of Emily and Elise. Visitation for Emily will be held on Sunday, December 21st from 3-9pm, with a 7pm Scripture Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren. She will lie in state on Monday from 11:00am until time of the Funeral Mass at 11:30am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church (formerly St. Cletus), 26256 Ryan Road in Warren. Interment will follow at St. Clement Cemetery in Center Line, Michigan. Please share memories of Emily at her memory book above.
