

Emily Sobodos, age 80 of Sterling Heights, died Monday, May 14, 2007 at Medilodge Nursing Home of Sterling Heights. Emily was born August 25, 1926 in Russian Hill, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Frank and Helen Frydrych. She is survived by her beloved husband John, and her loving children James (Janet), Nancy Kacprzak, and Edward (Margaret) Sobodos. Also survived by six grandchildren; Michelle, Mark, Brian, Kevin, Scott, and Katy. Emily was raised in Detroit and graduated from Southeastern High School in Detroit. She met and married John Sobodos and became a housewife and community activist. Mrs. Sobodos was very active in the local politics in and around her home. Even though she never drove an automobile she was a member of the Neighborhood Watch, the homeowners group, Mothers Alert, and MADD (mothers against drunk drivers). Mrs. Sobodos enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family every year she and her family would drive either across the country or visit one of the states. Mrs. Sobodos visited every state in the Union. Also, Emily and her husband traveled the world, visiting many exotic locations such as Russia, China, Australia, Egypt, and much of Europe. They also enjoyed taking many cruises together. Visitation for Mrs. Sobodos will be Tuesday from 2-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home 30009 Hoover Rd at Common, (12 Mile). Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11:00 am at the funeral home. Officiating the funeral will be Rev. Fr. Donald Sopiak. Interment will be in Resurrection cemetery.
