Erin Kathleen Thompson was born on May 7, 1976, in the city of South Bend, Indiana. Erin passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on May 30, 2022, at her home in Clinton Township, MI. No doubt she left behind her wheelchair and jumped into the arms of her Jesus.
Erin looks forward to a heavenly reunion with her earthly family which includes her dear husband Ron Thompson and four sons Ron Jr., Benjamin, Paul, and Silas. She is also survived by her parents, Tom & Kathleen Fox and Mike (Kathy) Doyle, and her in-laws Ronald & Lee Thompson. Erin enjoyed making memories during her growing up years with her brothers, Shannon Doyle and Daniel (Heidi) Fox. Her other beloved siblings include Kristin (Nathan) Harris, Lynn (Tyler) Doyle-Clark, and Ben Doyle. Erin is also survived by many nieces and nephews who adored her.
From the day she was born, Erin proved doctors wrong time and time again. There’s no doubt God had a perfect plan for her life, and she fulfilled it to the fullest. Despite having spina bifida and being told she would never walk, grow to be an adult or have a family, God allowed her to do all of those things. Her life was a continual reflection of His glory and grace in her life. Until the end of her life, Erin’s desire was to share Jesus with everyone she met. She saw her cancer journey not as a burden but as a commision from her Savior to take the gospel to doctors, nurses and fellow hospital patients. As she wore her tiara around the hospital and to various appointments, she declared it was because she is “A Daughter of the Heavenly King.” Her heart’s desire is for everyone she knows and loves to be His child through faith in Christ as well.
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” - 1 John 1:12
