Evelyn Rose Clark, age 82, died Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township Michigan. Evelyn was born November 19, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan, the third child of Vincenzo and Maria (nee: Massechia) DiMeo. Evelyn's parents met in a little town on the outskirts of Rome. Her parents moved to the United States, and eventually to Michigan, around the year 1920. Her father started working in the car industry while her mother was a homemaker and cared for the children. Evelyn was raised on the east side of Detroit, Michigan and remembered how the Italian culture was very prominent in her neighborhood. Her family unit consisted of her brothers, Raymond & Eugene, and her younger sister, Rose. Back in the 1940's to about the mid 1980's, Evelyn's family always had a tradition of getting together with family and friends over all the holidays. Evelyn graduated from Denby High School and immediately went out into the workforce where she eventually met her future husband, Donald Clark. Donald and Evelyn were married in 1950 and in 1952 their first son Michael was born. In the following years, Evelyn had three more children; Greg, Donna, and Jeffrey. Throughout the years, Evelyn found herself living in Arizona, Georgia, as well as Michigan. Donald and Evelyn came back to Michigan in May of 2000 and decided to retire in the location where they had begun their lives together. Evelyn's family found itself growing from the four children, that now includes five grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Her children will forever remember their mother's wonderful spaghetti and the sweet treat for dessert after every meal.Evelyn had very few hobbies, but what she did enjoy was bingo, playing cards, and dancing,...these were definitely her favorites. However, her family always came first and she was a steadfast mother who protected, loved, and cherished all of her family members.Mrs. Clark was the cherished and beloved wife of the late Donald Clark, and the dear mother of Michael (Karen) Clark, Gregory (Stephanie) Clark, Donna Clark, and Jeffrey (Marie) Clark. Also surviving are her cherished grandchildren, Justin, Ryan, Sarah, Nicholas, Alexander, Jesse, James, and great-grandmother of Courtney. She was the sister of the late Raymond DiMeo, the late Eugene "Corn" (Mary) DiMeo, the late Rose Scotchel, and sister in-law of Tony Scotchel.
