Fiorina “Florence” Taylor, age 94, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025. She was born to her loving parents, Joseph and Mary (nee. D’Agostino) Morelli, in Detroit, Michigan on January 25, 1931. Fiorina and her sister Rose were the first generation born in the United States, after their parents emigrated from Italy in search of a better life, bringing their other four children with them.
In the early 1960s, Fiorina attended a dance where she met Raymond, the love of her life. They married in 1961 and had four children, for whom Fiorina dedicated herself fully as a devoted mother and homemaker. After Raymond’s passing in 1980, Fiorina embraced new passions, including ballroom dancing, and stayed active with her exercise bike. She was also known for her love of Jeopardy and for always making sure not a single leaf was left unturned when raking her yard.
A longtime member of St. Faustina Catholic Church (formerly St. Edmund), Fiorina was a woman of strong faith, kindness, and love. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond, the loving mother of Daniel, Raymond, Katherine, and Marie, and a cherished sister to the late Nancy, Charles, Celeste, Grace, and Rose. Fiorina will be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Mass starting at 10:30 a.m. at St. Faustina Catholic Church, 14025 12 Mile Rd, Warren, MI 48088. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Detroit.
