Florence Theresa Makulski

Florence Theresa Makulski, age 85, passed away on October 20, 2008 at her home. She was born in Detroit on March 23, 1923 to the late Anthony and Stella Cynowa. The beloved wife of the late Norbert F. Makulski, they shared a devoted 51 years of marriage. Florence was an avid reader when it came to her daily newspaper and was an accomplished seamstress, adorning her children and household with the finest in handmade creations. Being a lover of animals, she was renown for the care extended to the family dog, numerous cats over the years and, of course, all of the birds that were fed so well. Florence will also be remembered for the exemplary cook she was and especially for the grand Sunday dinners that graced the family table. As well, Florence was a dedicated "Mom & Grandma" and spent countless hours with her children and grandchildren. Florence leaves 3 children; Richard, Thomas and Cheryl Makulski. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5-9pm on Thursday, 10/23 and from 2-9pm on Friday, 10/24 at the funeral home. A Rosary service will be held at 4pm on Friday. Florence will lie in state on Saturday, 10/25 at 10:00am at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church until time of Mass at 10:30am.
