Frances Davella Gerhardy, age 88 of Clinton Township, and formerly of Southgate, Michigan, died Saturday, February 27, 2021. She was born on September 16, 1932 in Kansas City, Missouri to her late parents, David and Helena (nee: Mann) Butler.
Frances lived in the Downriver area for most of her life (Grosse Ile, Southgate, and Trenton) before moving to the American House in Clinton Township. In 2005, she won Southgate’s Senior Citizen of the Year and even had a chance to ride in the city parade.
If there’s one thing in the world Frances enjoyed it was singing. She was an avid member of several church choirs overtime and eventually for the American House at which she lived. Her Lutheran faith was very important to her, and she gave back to God through her charity and her singing. In her leisure time, Frances also enjoyed playing Bingo, tending to her garden, and taking care of her cats. Most of all Frances loved spending time with her family and being a grandmother. She will be loved and missed eternally by all who knew her.
Frances was the beloved wife of the late Fredrick. Loving mother of Susan (Michael) Woonton and the late Fredrick. Cherished grandmother of Kevin (Kathryn) Kirk and Kimberly (Kyle) Tewell. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by siblings Robert Butler and Virginia Lutes.
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service for Frances will be held at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home in Warren.
