Francis James Guilbault

Francis (Frank), Guilbault passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on Tuesday, October 4th in his home after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He spent his final days surrounded by the people he loved and took his final breath while holding the hand of his dear wife of 60 years.

Frank was born on April 28th, 1938 in Trimountain Michigan. He was one of 7 children born to Bernadette and Hubert Guilbault. He was drafted in 1961 to serve in the Vietnam War and spent his time serving in Korea. He was married in 1962 to Dorothy Griffin and had 3 children.

Frank spent over 40 years working in the grocery business. He worked for National Foods, A&P, and Farmer Jack. Frank had a service heart. Years ago, he was the bicycle repairman in the neighborhood. If your bike was broken, you could stop by and he would fix it. Frank had a soft spot for kids with disabilities, he always looked for ways to help guide, teach, and be of service. Frank could fix anything, it may not look pretty when he finished, but it would be functional for years to come. He knew how to grow a fruitful garden, loved to ride a motorcycle, enjoyed bowling, hunting and was a big fan of the Detroit Tigers.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents Bernadette and Hubert, his bother Clarence and sisters, Laura, Rita, Eva, and Eleanor, and grandson Jonathan.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy; sister Melvina Dube; children Linda (Dan), James (Maria), Lisa (David); grandchildren Danielle (Augustus), Nicole, David, Robert (Erin), Jennifer (Joseph), and Isabella; and great grandchildren Henry, John, Peter, Frances, Genevieve, Abigail and Colton.

An instate for Francis will be held Friday, October 7, 2022 from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral mass at 10:30 AM at St. Ronald Catholic Church, 17701 15 Mile Road, Clinton Twp, MI 48035.
